It was a gorgeous day here in NJ. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, the windows open, the birds were chirping, and the people were cheerful. Nothing like the first of a warm spring day to make you get up and get outside, after that terribly long cold winter!
I started my day off with an early morning workout in the gym. Now that spring has arrived, everyone is flocking to the gyms
to take up all my space to workout to get their beach bods ready for summer (48 DAYS BY THE WAY!) So I have started to go a bit earlier to the gym to avoid the late morning rush. Makes it easier for me to run up and down the stairs of the gym like a crazy person. :)
I did my usual Monday leg day. A bunch of various squats, lunges, and jumps… you know, the whole works. I ran the stairs for 10 minutes. It’s actually my favorite part of my workout. People look at me like I’m nuts everyday, but its truly one of the best workouts their is. So much prefer to run the stair than “do” the stair master. I then did my 30 min. interval training workout on the treadmill. And finished with some abs. Not a bad day, eh?
I went home to get a jumpstart on my research paper and read, Nice weather beats out studying any day and I decided to go for a run on the boardwalk at the beach. By far my favorite place to run: the beach. I did a few miles and timed myself. It was one of the first outdoor runs I have done since the fall, with a few nice winter runs exceptions.
I got home expecting to continue on the homework, but my brother challenged me to a game of basketball in the backyard. I never say no to a challenge, so I accepted. Despite me losing, because he is 6’3 and a basketball player & I am 5’7 and not a basketball player, it was a fun game and quite the workout. I left sweating and dying of thirst.
So my day was definitely filled with exercise. I wish everyday was as nice as today… although I would never get my homework done. :)
